Mount Vernon breaks CTC record

Mount Vernon estate achieved an all time record price on Rs. 520 per kilogram of PF1 at this week’s auction, surpassing the previous record price of Rs. 510. This invoice was purchased by Uniworld Teas Ltd. Mount Vernon estate which is an amalgamation of two estates (Mount Vernon and Dimbula) is situated in the Dimbula planting district at an elevation of 1100 metres to 1200 metres and is renowned for the manufacture of good quality CTC teas. This estate is one of the first estates to be converted to CTC type manufacture in the western high grown elevation category. Mount Vernon is managed by Kotagala Plantations PLC and the sale was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd., who are brokers for their produce.
