Matuwagala Tea Factory establishes all-time record price

Matuwagala Tea Factory situated in Ratnapura, managed by Saman Upasena, achieved an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction of 30 May by securing an attractive price of Rs. 875 per kg for PEK1 grade in the Low Grown category.

Previously the all-time record price was held by the Kuttapitiya Tea Factory at the price of Rs. 870 per kg which is also managed by Upasena.

The sale was conducted by Ceylon Tea Brokers Plc.
