Florence, Carolina estates secure all time record price

Florence Estate that produces some of Sri Lanka’s finest High Grown CTC teas set a new all time record price of Rs. 460 for a BP1 grade consisting of 1,036 kg bought by Reza Seylani Tea.

Carolina Estate having achieved an all time record price at last week’s tea auction for a BPS grade, last week too secured an all time record price for a BP1 grade in the CTC medium category, when a line of BP1 consisting of 916 kg was sold at Rs. 470 to RJ Tea Products.

Carolina Estate is known to produce a thick coloury tea with good brightness, which is sought after by many CTC buyers.

These two estates come under the purview of Watawala Plantations. Once again these record prices were established by tea broker’s John Keells.
