Excellent demand at auctions

Ex Estate teas once again met with excellent demand this week with all major buyers bidding actively to cover orders in hand. Better Western BOP’s gained Rs. 10 and more whilst their corresponding BOPF advanced up to Rs. 20 and sometimes more with the progress of the sale.

Nuwara Eliya BOP/BOPF appreciated Rs. 10-30. Uva’s/Uda Pussellawa BOP’s were a little lower, but their BOPF counterparts gained up to Rs. 10. CTC teas were also in receipt of strong enquiry from the tea bag sector and prices generally gained Rs. 10 per kg.
