Enthused by the response of cumulative sale of tea through e-auction route across the six auction centres in the country, the Tea Board of India plans to roll out e-auctions for tea waste, bulk tea and package tea in the near future.



The cumulative sale of tea across the six tea auction centres in the country crossed a record one billion kg on December 22, according to a press statement by Tea Board.

Introduced in April 2009, e-auctions ensure fair price discovery and has innovative features such as multiple lot bidding, auto bids and support for division of lots among others.
