Carolina Estate sets an all time record price

Carolina Estate situated in Watawala has established an all time record price at this week’s tea auction held on 13 February 2013 by securing an attractive price of Rs. 435 per kilo for a BPS grade selling under the ‘Carolina’ mark.

Carolina has a state of the art, CTC factory producing some of the much sought after Medium grade CTC teas. This mark has been fetching top prices on a consistent basis at the Colombo auctions. This line was purchased by M/s Akbar Brothers. Carolina Estate is managed by Watawala Plantations. This line of tea was sold by tea brokers M/s John Keells PLC.
