Hingalgoda Tea Factory situated in Hiniduma, Galle, established an all time record price for a Low Grown CTC PF1 grade with two of its invoices selling at Rs. 650 per kilogram at the weekly tea auctions of 2 October 2013.  The two invoices were purchased by Imperial Teas and Ceylon Tea Marketing. Hingalgoda CTC teas are renowned for their colour, strength and bright liquoring characteristics which are keenly sort after by a range of reputed tea exporters. Hingalgoda Tea Factory is managed by Tea Small Holder Factories PLC and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
