Wathurawila tea factory establishes the 7th all-time record price

Wathurawila Tea Factory situated in Elpitiya, managed by Evergreen Group of Companies achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,950 per kg for BOPFSp grade at the weekly tea auction held on 20/21 September in the Low Grown category.

Evergreen Group of Companies chaired by Aruna de Silva. The Tea Factory is managed by Director lndika Nallapperuma,  Manager Rusith Nallapperuma, and Production Manager K.H. Chandana Kumara.

Wathurawila tea factory has achieved seven all-time record prices for the year 2022.

The factory is certified with RA, ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certifications with around 1600 smallholders supplying green leaf to the factory. The factory employs over 150 people from the area.

This tea was marketed by Ceylon Tea Brokers and was purchased by M/S Inter Tea Ltd.
