Wathurawila Tea Factory establishes an equal all-time record price

Wathurawila Tea Factory situated in Elpitiya, managed by Evergreen Group of Companies achieved an equal all-time record price of Rs. 2,900 per kg for BOPFSp grade at the weekly tea auction held on 13/14 September in the Low Grown category.

Evergreen Group of Companies chaired by Aruna de Silva. The Tea Factory is managed by Director Indika Nallapperuma, Manager Rusith Nallapperuma, and Production Manager K.H. Chandana Kumara.

The factory is certified with RA, ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certifications with around 1600 smallholders supplying green leaf to the factory. The factory employs over 150 people from the area.

This tea was marketed by Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC and was purchased by M/S Inter Tea Ltd.
