Post-devaluation tea prices soar at auctions with many new all-time record highs

At the Colombo Tea Auctions held on 22/23 March, substantial gains in rupee tea prices were realised and could primarily be attributed to the depreciation of the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar together with the shortfall in volumes. In this backdrop, tea exporters competed strongly to secure urgent shipping requirements.
