New Peacock Estate achieves all-time record price

At the Colombo Tea Auctions held on 5 October, the PF1 Grade of New Peacock Estate, Pussellawa, obtained an all-time record price of Rs. 1, 950.00 per kg.

This tea was purchased by Commercial Exports and was sold through the catalogues of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.

New Peacock Estate is managed by Elpitiya Plantations, of the Aitken Spence Conglomerate, and has been developed to a state-of-the-art Tea Processing Centre, complete with a new, fully automated CTC manufacturing line which enables the production of One million kilos of premium quality CTC teas per annum.

New Peacock Factory is certified under ISO 22000:2018 for food quality standards and has obtained the Rainforest Alliance certificate. This Estate is a pioneer in growing Raspberry, Blueberry and Blackberry in Sri Lanka, which is another unique initiative of Aitken Spence Plantation.
