Ambewela, the name, conjures images of misty hill tops, rolling green meadows, pedigreed cows, state-of-the-art, sophisticated barns and milking parlours, and the purest milk available in the South Asian region. To test the accuracy of these claims, large groups of industrialists, agriculturalists, and dairy experts from various European countries have been visiting the farm, inspecting all aspects of its operations.

Tour group leader Learning said that they were overwhelmed and astonished that such an advanced, high-standard farm is maintained in Sri Lanka. Sue Lewis, a farm owner of 900 cattle in the UK, said that the processes practised at Ambewela Farm are amazing and the scale of operations is mind-blowing. Henry mentioned that he also never expected to see this scale and the sophisticated barns Ambewela has. He said: “We are highly impressed by the operations of the farm.”

After tasting the cheese and yoghurt produced using Ambewela milk, they claimed that Ambewela products are on par with European standards. The stringent quality control practices were also highly praised and appreciated. Following their visit, they said that they would continue to encourage and direct tourists from their respective countries to visit Ambewela Farm.

As Ambewela Farm continues to innovate and expand, it remains steadfast in its mission: to elevate Sri Lanka’s dairy sector while offering a truly unique and memorable experience for all who visit, both local and foreign.
