Gunawardana Tea Factory of Akuressa has achieved an all-time record price of Rs.1,680 per kg on a BM grade in the Off Grade category, which was sold at the E-auction held on 26/27 April 2022. 

Gunawardana Tea Factory is eminent for manufacturing high quality, award winning teas, which attributes the increase in demand for Gunawardana Teas and has the distinction of achieving top prices more often at weekly Tea Auctions.  

This Tea Factory is owned and managed by the Proprietor J.J. Gunawardana. This line of tea was auctioned by Mercantile Produce Brokers Ltd., and purchased by Ranfer Teas Ltd.
