Telbedde Estate achieves all-time record price

Telbedde Estate achieved an all-time high record price of Rs. 2,900 per kg at the weekly tea auction on 12-13 May for an Uva Medium Grown OP1 grade. 

This line of tea was auctioned by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. 

Telbedde Tea Factory which was established in the year 1893 has been managed by Balangoda

Plantations PLC since mid-1992. The Estate is situated in Balangoda in the Uva Medium Agro-Climate District at an elevation of 1,036 metres above sea level and its territory stretches to a full extent of 1,121.83 hectares. 

Glenanore Estate sets all-time record  

Glenanore Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,200 per kg for a FBOPF1 grade in the Uva High Grown Region at Colombo Tea Auctions held on 12-13 May.

This Estate is ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certified and is managed by Agarapatana Plantations Ltd under the stewardship of Senior Manager, Gayan Wijesekara.

This line of tea was sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Glenloch Estate establishes all-time record price

Glenloch Estate situated in the Dimbula Agro-Climatic District, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,050 per kg for a FBOPF1 Grade, surpassing their own record in the Western High Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 12-13 May. 

This line of tea was exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Glenloch Tea Factory established in the year 1917 is ISO22000:2018 and HACCP certified.   

The estate/factory is owned and managed by distinguished tea producer M.T.M. Refai.

Delmar Estate sets yet another all-time record at Colombo Tea Auctions

Delmar Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,650 per kg for a BOPSp Grade in the Uda Pussellawa Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 12-13 May demonstrating their outstanding ability to go above and beyond as they surpass their own all-time record set the previous week.  

This line of tea was marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Delmar Estate is Rainforest Alliance certified and is managed by Udapussellawa Plantations PLC, an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd under the stewardship of Shamil Perera. 

Gordon Estate sets 

all-time record price  

Gordon Estate achieved yet another all-time record price of Rs. 2,450 per kg for an OP1 grade in the Udapussellawa Region at the weekly tea auction held on 12-13 May. This surpasses their own record of Rs. 1,900 per kg for an OP1 grade established at the weekly tea auction held on 20 April.

This line of tea was exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. 

This Estate is reputed for manufacturing high-quality tea and is Rainforest Alliance certified.  

Gordon Estate is managed by Udupussellawa Plantations, an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd. 

All-time record price for Ceciliyan Tea Factory

Ceciliyan Tea Factory situated in the Sabaragamuwa Region has achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 890 per kg for a Low Grown BPS grade at the weekly tea auction held on the 12-13 May.

This CTC Tea Factory is owned and managed by Ceciliyan Associates Ltd, a family business in its third generation. The factory is ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems and ISO 14,000 certified. 

This line of tea was marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory sets all-time record price  

Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory situated in Sabaragamuwa Province achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 6,950 per kg for a FBOPFExSp1 at the weekly Tea Auctions held on the 12-13 May.

Established 11 years ago, Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory is a subsidiary of Asiri Group.

With a green leaf handling capacity of 15,000 kg per day, Kamarangapitiya manufactures over 1 million kg of made tea annually with the best quality green leaves collected from lush fields atop the mountains in Pelmadulla, Rakwana and Balangoda.

Together with generations of family traditions and state-of-the-art technology, Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory has been able to sustain the livelihood of over 3,500 tea smallholder families.

This remarkable achievement is owing to the spirited efforts and dedication by Chairman, Y.C. Weerasena and his eldest son & Director, Jayanga Weerasena and his team.
