Demodera Estate achieves 2 all-time record prices

Demodera Estate achieved two all-time record prices in the Uva Medium Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

BOP Grade recorded a price of Rs. 1,860 per kg.

BOP1 Grade recorded price of Rs. 2,500 per kg.

These lines of tea were marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. Demodera factory is situated at an elevation of 871 metres. This factory is reputed for manufacturing high-quality tea and is Rainforest Alliance certified. Hapugastenne Plantations PLC is an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd., the managing company of Demodera Estate under the stewardship of Group Manager Nelantha Silva. 

 

Dickwella Estate establishes 3 all-time record prices

Dickwella Estate achieved three all-time record prices in the Uva Medium Region at the Colombo Tea Auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

BOPFSp Grade recorded a price of Rs. 1,880 per kg.

FBOPF1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,050 per kg.

PEK1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,250 per kg.

Dickwella Estate is ISO 22000:2018 and Rainforest Alliance certified.   This Estate is managed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC under the stewardship of Regional Manager Chaminda Perera and veteran Factory Head A.M. Shajahan who were instrumental in achieving this feat.  These lines of tea were sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. 

 

All-time record price for Telbedde Tea Factory

Telbedde Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,700 per kg for the OP1 grade in the Uva Medium Region at the weekly tea auctions on the 26/27 April 2022. 

This line of tea was marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. The Estate is situated in Balangoda in the Uva Medium Agro-Climate District at an elevation of 1,036 metres above sea level and its territory stretches to a full extent of 1,121.83 hectares.  Telbedde Tea Factory which was established in the year 1893 has been managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC since mid-1992 and presently is under the purview of Prageeth Senanayake. 

 

Glenanore Estate achieves another all-time record price

Glenanore Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,750 per kg for an OP1 grade in the Uva High Grown Region at Colombo Tea Auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.

This Estate is ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certified.

Glenanore Estate is managed by Agarapatana Plantations Limited under the stewardship of Senior Manager Gayan Wijesekara.

This line of tea was sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

Harangalla Tea Factory and Dartry Valley Tea Factory of Senhora Synergies Group achieve 3 all-time record prices 

Senhora Synergies Group once again showcased their outstanding capabilities in manufacturing best quality ‘Ceylon Tea’ by achieving three all-time record prices in the Western Medium and Low Grown regions at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. The following record-breaking lines of tea were sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. Harangalla Tea Factory: FBOPF1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,100 per kg and Dartry Valley Tea Factory: BOP1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,700 per kg and  PEK1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,350 per kg.

 

Queensberry Estate sets all-time record price

Queensberry Estate situated in the Dimbula Agro-Climatic District, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,700 per kg for a BOPSP Grade in the Western High Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

This line of tea was exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

This Estate is situated at an elevation of 1,300 metres above sea level. Queensberry Estate which is ISO 22000:2018 certified has maintained consistent standards over the years in manufacturing high-quality Orthodox Leafy teas in the respective region.  Queensberry Estate is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of Director Plantations Chaminda Gunarathna and Estate Manager Prageeth Wanigasekera.

 

Torrington Estate establishes 4 all-time record prices

Torrington Estate showcased their outstanding capabilities in manufacturing the high-quality ‘Ceylon Tea’ by achieving four all-time record prices in the Western High Grown Region at this week’s tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

The prices are: 

BOP1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,750 per kg.

FBOP Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,400 per kg.

OP1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,600 per kg.

PEK1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,150 per kg.

This Estate is Rainforest Alliance certified. 

Torrington Estate is managed by Agarapatana Plantations Limited under the stewardship of Manager W.P.N. Wasantha. Teas of Torrington Estate are exclusively marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

Glenloch Estate sets all-time record price

Glenloch Estate established in the year 1917 in Ramboda in the Dimbula Agro-Climatic District achieved yet another all-time record price of Rs. 1,920 per kg for a FBOPF1 grade in the Western High Grown Region at the Colombo Tea Auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.

The estate/factory is owned and managed by distinguished tea producer M.T.M. Refai, whose passion for tea manufacture has alleviated its product and processes to maintain the highest standards.  Glenloch Tea Factory which is ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certified has an annual production of approximately 350,000 kg.  

This line of tea was exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. 

 

Delmar Estate continues to excel at tea auctions

Delmar Estate achieved two all-time record prices in the Uda Pussellawa Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022, demonstrating their outstanding ability to manufacture high-quality ‘Ceylon Tea’. 

BOPSp Grade records a price of Rs. 1,500 per kg.

OPA Grade recorded a price of Rs. 1,800 per kg.

These lines of tea were marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. Delmar Estate is Rainforest Alliance certified and is managed by Udapussellawa Plantations PLC, an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd., under the stewardship of Shamil Perera. 

 

Blairlomond Estate achieves 2 all-time record prices

Blairlomond Estate achieved two all-time record prices in the Uda Pussellawa Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.

FBOPF1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 1,920 per kg.

PEK1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 1,860 per kg.

This Estate is Rainforest Alliance certified and the estate is managed by Udapussellawa Plantations PLC, an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd., under the stewardship of Amila Udana Weerasinghe.  These lines of tea were exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

Pedro Estate establishes 2 all-time record prices

Pedro Estate under it’s selling mark ‘Mahagastotte’ achieved two all-time record prices in the Nuwara Eliya Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.

PEK1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,500 per kg.

FGS1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 1,420 per kg (Off Grades).

This Estate is Rainforest Alliance certified and the estate is managed by Kelani Valley Plantations PLC, a subsidiary of Hayleys Group under the stewardship of Dilum Pathirana.  These lines of tea were sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

Court Lodge Estate sets all-time record price

Court Lodge Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,940 per kg for an Off Grades BP grade in the Uda Pussellawa Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.

This Estate is Rainforest Alliance certified.

Court Lodge Estate is managed by Udapussellawa Plantations PLC, an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd., under the stewardship of Thamal Manamperi.

Westhall Estate achieves all-time record price

Westhall Estate (Selling Mark - Rilagala) situated in the Kandy District, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 3,050 per kg for a FBOP Grade in the Western Medium Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

This line of tea was exclusively marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Rilagala Estate which is ISO 22000:2018 certified has maintained consistent standards over the years in manufacturing high-quality Orthodox Leafy teas in the respective region.

Imboolpittia Estate sets all-time record price

Imboolpittia Estate situated in the Kandy District, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,350 per kg for a PEK1 Grade in the Western Medium Grown category at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.  This Estate which is ISO 22000:2018 certified has maintained consistent standards over the years in manufacturing high-quality Orthodox Leafy teas in the respective region.  Imboolpittia is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of Director Plantations Chaminda Gunarathna and Estate Manager Kasun Kariyawasam.

Cooroondoowatte Tea Factory sets all-time record price

Cooroondoowatte Tea Factory achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,350 per kg for a PEK1 grade in the Western Medium Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

The factory is situated in Gampola in the Western Medium planting district. Cooroondoowatte Tea Factory is owned and managed by R.W. Harley, who has been producing premium quality teas which have been attracting high prices on a regular basis. Cooroondoowatte Tea Factory is HACCP, GMP and FSMS certified.

All-time record price for Spring Valley Estate

Springs Valley Estate located in Badulla Region achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,820 per kg for a BOPSp grade in the Uva High Grown category at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.  This Estate is managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC under the stewardship of Bradley Amunugama.  This line of tea was marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. 

 

New Deniyaya Tea Factory sets all-time record price  

At the sale of 27 April 2022, a line of New Deniyaya OP realised a price of Rs. 3,000 per kg establishing an all-time record price for a Low Grown OP grade. 

New Deniyaya Tea Factory is situated in Morawakkorale, Deniyaya renowned for its pleasing landscape and Low Grown tea. It consists 333 hectares of splendid tea bushes at the foothills of the eminent Sinharaja Rainforest. This factory is renowned for manufacturing some of the island’s best Low Grown teas.  This factory is managed by Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC.  This line of tea was exclusively marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

New Galbode Estate achieves all-time record price

New Galbode Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,980 per kg for the PF1 grade in the Low Grown CTC Category at this week’s tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

This Estate is situated in the Sabaragamuwa Province in the Rathnapura District.  New Galbode Estate is considered to be one of the largest CTC manufacturers with an annual production capacity of approximately 600,000 Kgs and is Rainforest Alliance certified.  New Galbode Estate is managed by Hapugastenne Plantations PLC, an associate of Browns Power Group under the stewardship of Manager Darshana Diyagama who instrumental in achieving this feat.  New Galbode teas are exclusively marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

All-time record price for Ceciliyan Tea Factory

Ceciliyan Tea Factory situated in the Sabaragamuwa Region achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,560 for a Low Grown BP1 grade at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

This CTC Tea Factory is owned and managed by Ceciliyan Associates Ltd., a family business in its third generation. The factory is ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems and ISO 14,000 certified. Ceciliyan Tea Factory was awarded the Gold Award in the Low Grown category (Sabaragamuwa Region) in 2018 by the Tea Exporters Association.

Donside CTC Tea Factory sets all-time record price

Donside (CTC) Tea Factory achieved and all-time record price of Rs. 980 per kg for a BP1 grade in the CTC Medium Grown category at this week’s tea auctions held on 26/27 April 2022.

This CTC Tea Factory is ISO 22000:2018 certified and managed under the stewardship of Zavavi Odayar.  This line of tea was marketed by Forbes &Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

Wattegodde Estate sets all-time record price

Wattegodde Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs.2,100 per kg for a Dust1 grade in the Western High Region at the Colombo Tea Auctions held on 26/27 April 2022. 

This Estate is situated in the Dimbula Planting District in the Talwakelle-Lindula Region at an elevation of 1,280 metres above mean sea level. The total extent of the Estate covers 425 hectares with an excellent processing centre that boasts of a production capacity of approximately 620,000 kg per annum.

Wattegodde Estate is ISO 22000:2018, 14001:2015, ISO 14064-1:2018 and Rainforest Alliance certified. 

This Estate is managed by Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, a subsidiary of Hayleys PLC under the stewardship of Manager Nalin Kumara, who instrumental in achieving this feat.  This line of tea was sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

 

Lihiniyawa Tea Factory equals all-time record price for FBOFEXSP1 Grade

Lihiniyawa Tea Factory owned by the Evergreen Group of Companies achieved an equal all-time record price of Rs. 5,900 per kg for a FBOPFEXSP1 grade in the Premium Flowery category at the weekly tea auction held on 26/27 February 2022. 

Evergreen Group is renowned for being the largest tea manufacturer of high-quality Low Grown teas strengthened by 12 prestigious factories. Strict quality standards are maintained throughout the production cycle. 

Lihiniyawa Tea factory is situated in Mathugama, Kalutara at an elevation of 147 metres above sea level and has an annual production of 700,000 Kgs of made tea. This factory provides employment opportunities for over 120 families in the region. Headed by Aruna De Silva, Lihiniyawa Tea Factory is managed by his eldest son and Director Senal De Silva, Director Indika Nallapperuma, Manager Dinesh Kumarage and Factory Officer Chandana Pradeep.  This line of tea was marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.
