New Vithanakande and Lumbini achieve records for BOP1 Grade

Following up on last week’s record-breaking performance in the Low Grown category a line of BOP1 produced from New Vithanakande Tea Factory, Delwala sold at a record price of Rs. 4,250 per kg, breaking the previous record of Rs. 4,150 per kg jointly held by New Vithanakande and Pothatuwa Tea Factories. 

The company is chaired by Nirmalene Pilapitiya and factory is under the supervision of CEO Patrick Vanderpoortan, Factory Manager Lal Liyanaarachchi and Factory Officer K.W.N.P. Nissanka. 

Similarly, Lumbini Tea Factory Deniyaya also achieved Rs. 4,250 per kg for its BOP1 grade from the Tea Auction held on 3/4 May. Lumbini Tea Factory is owned by D. Jayawardena with leadership of Managing Director Chaminda Jayawardena. 

Both Teas were purchased by JMJ International Ltd. and marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC

All-time record price for Dickwella BOPFSP 

In the Uva Medium category Dickwella Estate achieved record prices of Rs. 2,150 for its BOPFSP grade. This tea was purchased by leading tea exporter Akbar Brothers Ltd.

Dickwella Estate is part of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC. Dickwella Estate is in the very capable care of Regional Manager Chaminda Perera and the factory is run by Veteran Master Tea Maker A.M. Shajahan. This tea was marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC

Glen Alpin BOP1 sets all-time record

Reflecting strong demand for Uva teas an invoice of BOP1 produced from Glen Alpin Estate recorded a highest ever price of Rs. 2,850 per kg this week, breaking the previous record jointly held by Glen Alpin and Maddkande Estates. 

Glen Alpin Estate which is under the stewardship of Manager Mahendra Pilapitiya and is managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC a member of Melsta Corp.

This tea was purchased by Basilur Tea Exports Ltd. and sold by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC
