Hingalgoda Tea Factory establishes two more all-time record prices

Hingalgoda Tea Factory, located in Hiniduma Galle, known for consistently producing premium quality low grown CTC teas, achieved two all-time record prices at the weekly tea auction held on 27 April. They secured an attractive price of Rs. 1,300 per kg for a PF grade in the Off Grade category and a price of Rs. 1,980 per kg for a PF1 grade in the CTC Low Grown category. These lines of tea were purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd., and Stassen Exports on behalf of Beta Tea, respectively.    Hingalgoda Tea Factory is managed by Tea Small Holder Factories PLC and these invoices were marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

 

All-time record price for Telbedde Estate

Telbedde Estate located in Balangoda, under the purview of Balangoda Plantations PLC, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,500 per kg on a BOP1 grade in the Uva Medium category at this week’s tea auction held on 27 April. 

This invoice of tea was purchased by Inter Tea Ltd., and was marketed and sold by Tea Broker John Keells PLC.

 

All-time record price for Uva Highlands Estate

Uva Highlands Estate located in Bandarawela, achieved an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction held on 27 April by securing a price of Rs. 1,660 per kg on a BOPFSP grade in the Uva High category. This invoice of tea was purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd. Uva Highlands Estate comes under the purview of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC. This line of tea was marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

 

Makandura Tea Factory Achieved all-time record price

An all-time record price of Rs. 2,350 per kg was realised by Makandura Tea Factory at the Colombo Tea auction held on 26 April.  Makandura Factory manufactures one of the finest teas in the district, and this is the highest price ever recorded for this grade in history. Ayesh Sirithilaka is the Managing Director of this factory which is located in the Matara District.

This tea was purchased by M/S Shan Teas (Pvt) Ltd., a leading exporter of quality “Ceylon Teas” and was sold through the catalogues of M/S Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.

 

All-time prices recorded by Mahaliyadda Tea Factory

At this week’s Tea Auction held on 26 April, Mahaliyadda Tea Factory established two all-time record prices in the Low Grown Category.  The record prices were BOP grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,350 per kg and BOPFSP grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,300 per kg respectively.  This factory is one of the largest tea factories in the Udugama area, and is managed by Chanaka Seneviratna 

These teas were purchased by Shan Teas (Pvt) Ltd., who is a leading exporter of quality tea and sold through the catalogue of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.
