Enterprise-grade ESG technology, advisory and capability building — ahead of the 2026 SLFRS S1 & S2 compliance deadline.

TechNeura Labs (Pvt) Ltd, the Colombo-headquartered technology, advisory and capability-building firm, has signed a strategic partnership with SAM Corporate, a global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and fintech advisory firm operating across the UAE, India, UK, Spain, US and Singapore. The partnership makes TechNeura the in-country delivery partner for the multi-award-winning SAMESG® platform across all four of its dimensions — Solution, Managed Services, Training and Consulting.

Why now, and why Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is at an inflection point on sustainability disclosure. With CA Sri Lanka's adoption of SLFRS S1 and SLFRS S2 — aligned to the IFRS Foundation's ISSB Standards — mandatory reporting now extends to all Main Board listed companies on the CSE, widening further through 2030. In parallel, Sri Lankan entities including but not limited to leading exporters, banks, hotels and manufacturering partners of global businesses face rising ESG expectations from global buyers, lenders and regulators. These include the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and buyer-driven Scope 3 disclosure requirements, which require strategic and highly scrutinised management of ESG. Yet, most local organisations are still attempting to meet these demands  with disconnected spreadsheets. That approach does not facilitate scale, audit, and decision-grade data.

Why SAMESG®

TechNeura chose a platform already trusted by enterprises in more demanding regulatory environments. SAMESG® is an end-to-end ESG ecosystem, awarded Best ESG Platform of the Year 2024, developed by a firm with 12+ years of focus and 90+ projects delivered globally. It aligns natively with GRI, TCFD, SASB, ESRS and SLFRS S1 & S2; automates Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG accounting; supports double materiality and KPI-driven target tracking; and delivers audit-ready workflows. SAM Corporate is ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1 certified, GDPR-compliant, a UN Global Compact participant and a GRI Community member.

Two deployment tiers — one journey

SAMESG® Enterprise is built for listed entities, large corporates and multi-entity groups, with AI-powered data capture, a centralised ESG hub, double materiality, a custom KPI builder, automated reporting and role-based audit workflows. SAMESG® Lite is designed for SMEs and mid-market organisations, offering quick onboarding, bulk upload, DEFRA emission factors, automated emissions calculations and ready-made reports — so smaller organisations can start their ESG journey without a six-figure implementation. Through TechNeura, clients can start at either tier and scale up as their disclosure obligations and ambition grow.

From Techneura CEO

Speaking on the partnership, Neranjan Dissanayake, Managing Director and CEO of TechNeura Labs, said:

Sri Lanka has reached a point where sustainability can no longer be run out of a spreadsheet. SLFRS S1 and S2 are already live for our largest listed entities, and from this year the compliance perimeter widens materially. At the same time, our businesses are being asked harder questions by global buyers, lenders and regulators — and the penalty for a weak answer is no longer reputational alone, it is commercial.

This partnership fits naturally inside the TechNeura ecosystem. Our Consultancy practice will lead ESG strategy and materiality; our Solutioning division will implement, integrate and operate the platform; and our Academy will build the sustainability and climate literacy that Sri Lankan boards, CFOs and sustainability teams urgently need. We will meet clients where they are — from onboarding an SME onto SAMESG® Lite in weeks, to standing up a multi-entity Core deployment with Scope 3 inventories and audit-ready workflows for a listed group.

Sectors we will serve first

TechNeura sees the most immediate value creation in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (SLFRS S1 & S2, CBSL sustainable finance expectations, climate-risk stress testing); Apparel, rubber, ceramics and food manufacturers exposed to CBAM, EUDR and buyer Scope 3 audits; Plantations, tea, coconut and agriculture requiring traceability and land-use disclosure; Hospitality and tourism responding to OTA and chain-level sustainability certification; Retail, healthcare and pharmaceuticals managing energy, waste and supply-chain disclosures; Telco and logistics facing energy-heavy footprints; Government and state-owned enterprises building national disclosure capacity; and Sri Lanka's family-owned conglomerates seeking a unified ESG operating model across diversified portfolios.

The business case for ESG technology

Done well, ESG technology is one of the highest-leverage investments a Sri Lankan company can make this decade. Benefits include regulatory and voluntary disclosure readiness across SLFRS, GRI, TCFD, SASB, ESRS and CBAM from a single platform; audit-grade data integrity with role-based workflows and locked reporting periods; access to green capital through sustainability-linked finance and lower cost of funds; operational cost reduction of 5–15 percent as energy, water and waste analytics expose inefficiency; and export competitiveness as European, UK and multinational buyers make ESG credentials a gate to retaining and winning business.
