Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) Oldest & Largest Motoring Organization in Sri Lanka, is well known as the “Voice of the Motorists” and “Partner in Motoring” indulge in Road Safety Campaign to reduce Road Accidents, injuries and fatalities in the country.

Under the UN Decade of Action 2021 – 2030 under the Project known as “Helmet, if you Love”. This Project was commenced in June 2024 and Helmets were distributed, specially for School Children in the Colombo, Kamburupitiya, Gampaha, Horana, Kandy and Kataragama areas.

On 09th July 2025, AAC distributed 109 Helmets at Waddagala Kudawa Vidyalaya & Waddagala South Maha Vidyalaya in the Ratnapura District by Dhammika Attygalle – President - AAC and organizer Lasitha Gunaratne – EXCO Member of AAC.

This programme was aimed to educate children, parents, teachers, motorcyclist and many others in the Ratnapura District on the importance of Children wearing helmets not only to abide the Law but also to keep the safety factor of the Children in their mind.

The Traffic Police Officers of the Kalawana Police division provided vivid demonstrations on the safety of wearing the helmets to children when they travel with their parents on a two- wheeler.
