Granada Suppliers divests the Grocery SBU to SAKZ Groceries

Granada Suppliers (Pvt) Ltd, the owning company of the popular online grocery, Groceries by Granada, (GBG) has recently divested the Grocery Unit to S.A.K.Z. Groceries (Pvt) Ltd

The move enables Granada Suppliers to focus on its larger core businesses, namely exports, industry and HORECA supplies, while GbG is set to grow in terms of products and locations, and have improved customer engagement, offering more lifestyle friendly solutions to an even wider customer base, said Director Granada and founder of GbG, Udyama Kurukularatne.

Since April 2020, GbG has served 7,000+ customers, in the Colombo South and Nugegoda areas.

Going forward, Ranshan and Shehan Gomez of S.A.K.Z. will operate and market the grocery business, having a successful track record in other businesses. "Our goal is to enter the online marketplace since the world changed overnight and only online businesses are thriving. We plan to expand the Groceries by Granada operations to reach more customers because nowadays everyone is looking for convenience" said Ranshan and Shehan.

Udyama, is a Director and Shareholder of S.A.K.Z., will continue to guide GbG on the core values of the business and supply chain operations as well as support S.A.K.Z. with new imported products.
