The Business Intelligence and Data Analytics sectors are two of the rapidly growing industries in Sri Lanka where companies use and utilize BI and analytics for a considerable scale moving into a world of “big data”, which is largely characterized by unstructured data. With new technologies and trends evolving every day, companies want to stay updated by incorporating them into their operations. With efficiency and effectiveness playing a key part towards achieving organizational goals, companies no longer wanted to store data in multiple sources and delay the decision-making process.

In order to serve this purpose with its Business Intelligence solutions and Data Analytics, Enso stepped into the market on 16th January 2020 as the brainchild of three individuals with ample experience in the Business Intelligence and Data Analysis industry. While contributing to the national economy by serving its enterprise clients, Enso stands strong in its long-term vision; becoming one of the top companies in Business Intelligence and Data Analysis locally and internationally.

From being employed at different organizations, gathering knowledge from various domains to becoming the founders of Enso; Namal Wijerathne, Shan Dissanayake, and Krishanth Sivaloganathan were always determined to establish a startup of their own that provides Business Intelligence solutions and Data Analytics. Eventually, Enso set foot in a niche market where a few companies had already taken the lead for over 10 years and dominated this space.

Despite starting with a small team during the pandemic, Enso has continued to watch its graph grow eventually and has currently expanded into a larger team while becoming one of the few licensed resellers for QlikTech housing Qlik certified senior developers amidst numerous challenges.

Namal Wijerathne; the Director/COO at Enso, is extremely proud of how his team succumbed amidst the hurdles. He says “We have currently engaged with a few different technology & service partners. I am extremely delighted to say that in the course of just 2 years, we have laid our first overseas footprint and are on the lookout for more challenges.”

Unlike many start-ups that entered the market, then slowly declined due to unavoidable circumstances during the pandemic, Enso stood its ground and sustained continuity in a small market amidst huge competitors solely due to its dedicated service and patience.

In this short time span, while being entrusted as a Business Intelligence solution partner for any industry, this start-up was quickly able to win over the trust of many leading companies both in the manufacturing industry and group organizations based in Sri Lanka, namely Softlogic BPO Services, Calzedonia Group of Companies (Omega Line, Vavuniya Apparels, Sirio Ltd, Benji Ltd, Alpha Apparels), Tea Trends Exports, Kenara Capital, and one of the leading tyre manufacturing companies.

Krishanth the Director/ CMO at Enso speaks of how they stayed undefeated in the past 2 years despite any obstacle. “As a new player in the industry, we had to use every opportunity be it during a pandemic or otherwise. While working remotely and struggling to make precise decisions with information, Enso stepped in and used this to its advantage by delivering apt and ample information needed to make decisions”.

Enso has been extremely efficient in its tasks and helped to bring in more ROI for its clients by providing a complete production analysis covering crucial decision-making points, and a complete financial analysis making it easier to have an elaborative overview of the financial status.

The proven results of working with Tea Trends where Enso was given the opportunity to build its own product, one that was successfully implemented has now helped Enso enter into the tea industry, despite it being one of the most challenging sectors. A completely fully-fledged ERP solution was built exclusively to serve the requirements in the tea industry.

In addition to this, Enso was also capable of expanding its services to the apparel manufacturing industry, retail, and group companies which focused completely on Business Intelligence.

Enso has come this far because it has always strived to stick by its principles of perfection.

In conclusion, Shan the Director/CDO at Enso stated, “Working online is a new concept to Sri Lanka and we executed a purely unique implementation approach during the pandemic with a 100 percent success factor by remotely covering the entire production process of Calzedonia Group of Companies (Omega Line, Vavuniya Apparels, Sirio Ltd, Benji Ltd, Alpha Apparels) which has not only made decision making easier but also created an efficient workspace.”
