University of Moratuwa selects OpenArc as partner to offer BIT Degree

University of Moratuwa (UOM) recognised OpenArc as the partner organisation to offer Bachelor of Information Technology Degree of University of Moratuwa, commencing from the new intake in February 2015.The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place at the University of Moratuwa on 21 January. The specialty of the degree offered by the University of Moratuwa is that their students are employed 100% even before graduating, especially in the ICT Industry. OpenArc with her unblemished history of 23 years as an IT school and a software company has been providing educational services and software solutions to the nation saving millions of foreign exchange to the country. OpenArc has been generating its own software engineers for its commercial software development teams and today, it has recorded the market leadership in the banking and finance software sector of the country. The company has computerised a large number of finance companies, merchant banks and parts of commercial banks and holds a market leadership for their flagship product ‘OpenArc SkyBank’. OpenArc Campus has been feeding the software development company with talented human resources for the world class software projects undertaken by them. Through this process it has been evolved as an ‘Industrial Campus’ that has been producing highly employable IT graduates. At the OpenArc Industrial Campus, senior software engineers engaged in practical software projects take part in teaching and students get the opportunity to work in software projects as early as second year of their graduate study program. OpenArc involvement with BIT of University of Colombo goes back to the inception of the program in the year 2000. On top of weekend/part time program, the campus has introduced a ‘Full Time BIT’ degree program as well and it has so many additional study areas to prepare the students for the ICT industry.
