There are two ways to spread the light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it, said Edith Wharton, the award winning American novelist, short story writer and designer.

The Management Club (TMC) is proud to have been a mirror that reflects the light from the candle of knowledge through its efforts in organising the Wisdom Quiz event for five consecutive years and the fact that each successive year this quiz has become more popular among the quizzers in Sri Lanka.

TMC was formed in 2002, under the auspices of the Chartered Management Institute and has over the years grown to become a place for professional managers in Sri Lanka to network and interact while sharing and gaining from the experiences of one another.

Launched in September 2006 the TMC Wisdom Quiz became an instant hit with quizzing enthusiasts in Sri Lanka, who welcomed the opportunity to test their skills in a very competitive atmosphere with the best in this field.

The questions set up for the TMC Wisdom Quiz by Ruwan Senanayake, Sri Lanka’s representative of the International Quizzing Association (IQA), and a founder member of TMC, have always been of a very high standard. Another interesting feature in the TMC Quiz has been that each time, some questions have been based on visuals, video clips and movie clips – making the quiz very entertaining even for those witnessing it. This quiz event has always been worked out in a very competitive spirit and tie breaker rounds have been required to decide the top slots, almost on all the occasions.

The sixth annual TMC Wisdom Quiz will be worked out at the Galle Face Hotel today, 24 September, from 4 p.m.

The Principal Sponsor of this event is ICT Agency, Sri Lanka and the Wisdom Quiz 2011 is being supported by IQA Lanka, ACBT, ICBT Campus, Pan Audio, CMI Sri Lanka, The Sunday Times and Education Mirror.

While the stakes will be bigger this time with Rs. 75,000 and the TMC Wisdom Trophy on offer for the winners and Rs. 40,000 to the runners-up followed by Rs. 25,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively for the third, fourth and fifth placed teams.
