The 27th Installation ceremony of Interact Club of Thurstan College

The Interact Club of Thurstan College is one of the prominent clubs in the school and the Interact District 3220 Sri Lankan and Maldives. Throughout its history the club has performed many projects for the betterment of the school as well as to the society. With its goal to serve towards the betterment of the society and projects in completion the club has received many recognitions from interact district in the recent past.

Each year the Interact board is introduced with an installation ceremony. This year Thurstan College inducted Mohomad Azeem as its 27th President. The chief guest for this occasion was old boy, Past Interactor of Thurstan College and District Rotaract Committee Chairman Rtn. P.P. Marshad Barry. He mentioned that he is indeed proud be the chief guest at this installation where he started his Rotary career as an Interactor at Thurstan College. Also addressing the gathering Deputy Principal J. Sumedha Jayaweera stated that she really encouraged this movement in the college because it help the students to improve the leadership qualities and good communication skills to conquer the world.

Also she said that she is proud to say that Interact Club of Thurstan College has produced men of eminence to the society. President of the sponsor Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Colombo Mid City Rtn. Malini Kiriella, Youth Service Director Rtn. Pearly De Silwa, Deputy Principal Co-Curricular Activities Goonawathi Paranawithana, teachers-in-charge, Interact District Committee, Interactors from other schools, parents and well-wishers participated in this event which was held in the college main hall.
