StudyCo Lanka, a subsidiary of StudyCo which is an Australian based educational recruitment firm was launched in Colombo recently with a view to provide both educational and management consultancy in addition to avenues for vocational development.
The firm brings in a unique perspective to the largely commodity oriented international student facilitation business in Sri Lanka, where it offers assistance to students who have completed their secondary education to assess their career interest and options as well as to apply for university or vocational education primarily in Australia.
StudyCo represents all 38 universities in Australia and has affiliation to many other educational institutions based in New Zealand, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and USA.
StudyCo Lanka Managing Director Rohan Wijesooriya said that they were committed to provide students, parents, and academics with current information about educational programs offered globally, whilst ensuring the students are suitably guided and counselled into making the right choice for them to achieve their future educational aspirations.
“Our view and our experience is that the demand for talent is endless. We want to create careers for our students to both serve these people and become successful themselves,” StudyCo Lanka Chairman Dr. David Arelette pointed out.
He stressed that it was important to understand students and to help them asses their preference, skills, abilities and life targets to get them started on their higher education with a proper framework that would provide targets and pathways for maximum success.
Citing an example from his life experience Dr. Arelette said; “When I graduated with my Chemistry degree, after three months, in a laboratory if felt as if I had done a life time of chemistry, I went out and did economics, which is what I should have done in the first place. I created a plan after that.”
He assured that StudyCo Lanka has tools as well as expertise knowledge to guide and prepare Sri Lankan students to be among the people in demand and successful.
The head quarters of StudyCo is located in Melbourne and operates in multiple countries to facilitate students entering study in Australia, New Zealand and other locations.
StudyCo Lanka Executive Director Anil Weeraratne said; “Lifetime learning is not a nice thing, but it is the only thing. Those with more current skills will be in the line ahead of those who stand in the hall.”
