Sri Lanka Telecom Manpower Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. achieved a landmark when it was given the certification of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 by DNV.
Established in 2008 and Structured on the vision of becoming the leading human asset management partner in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Telecom Manpower Solutions’ scope expands as an HR Service provider including the recruitment and supply of personnel.
This first major step in improving the quality of services was to ensure service consistency, and to prevent problems and correct mistakes in an orderly manner through the use of quality procedures.
The ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certification ceremony was held on 21 February 2011. Among the participants were the CEO of SLT PLC Greg Young, Vivekananthan Kulasingham – Location Head, DNV Business Assurance, Sri Lanka, Chief Executive Officers of SLT Subsidiaries and Chief Officers of SLT PLC.
Welcoming the guests, Ranjith G. Rubasinghe, CEO, SLT Manpower Solutions mentioned the organisational objective to develop innovative workforce solutions in order to increase productivity through improved strategies which facilitate better quality and cost reduction thus increasing efficiency.
He added that the organisation had taken steps to extend employee welfare and benefits to ensure the fulfillment of social needs and better living conditions for the employees.
“As firm believers of the technology, we are operating on our own ERP Solution (eMpower) which extends towards our clients as well as our employees at various locations all over the island. We encourage automation of all our processes while preserving the environment,” Rubasinghe said.
He pointed out that the certification should inspire the staff to work with greater dedication while maintaining professionalism and standardisation in order to provide quality services to the clients, with the clients’ satisfaction as their primary goal.
Speaking on the occasion, Greg Young, CEO SLT PLC expressed the importance of operating the business in global standards and congratulated SLT Manpower Solutions for the achievement. He further added the importance of obtaining ISO Certification to ensure service consistency of the SLT Group.
Overall the ceremony was successful in creating awareness regarding the importance of ISO standards while inspiring those present to reach higher standards through maintaining consistency of quality and continuous improvements.
