Pearson Edexcel: principal sponsor of TISSL Conference for Heads of Schools

Pearson Edexcel will be the principal sponsor of the annual Heads of Schools conference organised by the TISSL for the second consecutive year. As the largest awarding organisation in the UK and owing to the continuous commitment towards education, Pearson believes in supporting such a conference that enables educational leaders to meet and share best practices which will have a positive measurable effect on the eventual end users, the students.
Pearson Edexcel’s speaker for this conference is David Kaye, an inspirational presenter whose presentations are grounded in the belief that great teachers inspire, motivate and change the world.
David Kaye is a Regional Teacher Development Manager for Pearson. He travels the region – Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam, China, and Japan – working with teachers and learners, extolling the Pearson belief that wherever learning flourishes, so do people. David is also an author and has extensive experience teaching in Japan, India, the UK, and Hong Kong, before moving on to editing and writing courses and teaching guides for bestselling ELT titles. David is currently series consultant for the innovative new Vietnamese Secondary Tieng Anh course.
At the conference David will present on five Lessons in Teacher Development from South East Asia. This talk will identify five key areas of development for teachers entering the classroom in the 21st century learned from education systems across South East Asia, and apply those to current practices in schools in Sri Lanka.
This is also synonymous with Pearson’s values in investing in teacher development. The free INSET training programs provided by Pearson has truly been commendable and has greatly assisted teachers in guiding students to achieve top results and progress to the universities of their choice.
