A past pupil of Bishop’s College, Shareefa Rifath Riyas Mowlana has bagged the subject prize for Strategic Management Process at the December 2013 Strategic Level examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
A straight ‘A’ student at the GCE advanced level examinations, Mowlana is currently following CA Sri Lanka’s globally recognised chartered accountancy program in her ambition to becoming a chartered accountant. She has already completed four subjects in the Strategic Level I of the CA Sri Lanka curriculum.
Speaking on her decision to join CA Sri Lanka, Mowlana noted that she chose CA Sri Lanka to further her professional goals because the Chartered Accountancy program offered at CA Sri Lanka comes with unique technical skills apart from various other knowledge which helps shape a professional to easily take on future business challenges.
“I am studying the CA Sri Lanka program because it gives me technical and various other skills along with solid business acumen which will help me meet future business challenges. Therefore I think the CA Sri Lanka qualification is the best professional qualification,” she added.
The CA Sri Lanka chartered accountancy program is one of the country’s most sought after professional programs. The institute at present has an active student base of over 44,000 who are studying to become chartered accountants.
The demand for the services of chartered accountants has been increasing rapidly in the recent past. They are much sought after by an ever increasing number of organisations in the private and public sectors of Sri Lanka, as well as abroad. The skills and expertise of the chartered accountants of Sri Lanka is also recognised the world over. Of the total membership of over 4500 CA Sri Lanka members, more than 27% of the members serve with distinction abroad.
