Group partner and Managing Director of The Boston Consulting Group Malaysia Zarif Munir is a partner of Eduko Lanka, who fully owns Universal College Lanka, (UCL) the accredited partner in Sri Lanka for delivering Monash University Foundation and Undergraduate Diploma programs.
On a recent visit he outlined the company’s plans for the Sri Lankan market and on benchmarking and adopting best practices in designing their degrees and delivering their study programs.
Speaking of the programs offered Munir said that it comprises of degrees in business, engineering and information technology. He explained that increasing competition, demands for accountability, and higher volumes of available information are changing the methods of how universities and higher education institutes should operate in the current market.
“At Monash we have always believed in the concept of making what is already good into something better. Hence we have adopted the practice of delivering cross disciplinary degrees to our students that will not only give them a firm foundation in their respective field of study but will also help them to be knowledgeable in other important fields of work.
Outlining their teaching methodologies he stated, “Our approach is fundamentally different in the sense that we have inculcated methods known as ‘blended learning’. This refers to integrating online learning with traditional face-to-face classroom activities in a planned, pedagogically valuable manner.”
Commenting on the partnership between Monash and Universal College Lanka (UCL) Munir said, “We are proud to have been appointed as an accredited partner of Monash for the Sri Lankan market. As a delivery partner, we were selected based on the criterions of having the ability to deliver strategic value in offering enhanced access to their programs as well as in raising the profile of their brand in Sri Lanka.”
