Pakistan Govt. announces Jinnah Educational Scholarships 2012 for Sri Lankan youth

The High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka invites applications for Jinnah Scholarship from deserving  studies at O’Levels and A Levels. The Scholarships will be awarded according to the finalist of merits among all the application.



The Government of Pakistan is awarding Jinnah Scholarships for Sri Lankan students for past 6 years through Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka. The scholarships are named after the great statesman and leader of the Sub Continent, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, who is the founder of Pakistan.

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of a strict criteria involving merit and need for financial assistance.

Under this program, each successful student receives stipend of SL Rs. 24,000 as assistance for one year for following their studies. The Government of Pakistan is awarding Jinnah Educational Scholarships since 2005 and so far over 800 Sri Lankan Students have benefited from this scheme. During the past seven years over Rs. 20 million worth of scholarships have been awarded for promoting the Sri Lankan youth and the education sector in Sri Lanka.

During year 2011 the Government of Pakistan awarded Sri Lankan Rs. 2.56 million worth of educational scholarships to 107 bright Sri Lankan O/L and A/L students under Jinnah Educational Scholarship program.

Application forms for submitting nominations for award of scholarships may be collected from the High Commission located at 53/6 Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7. The Last date for submission of applications is 19 March.
