Mercury Institute of Management, established in 2001, is synonymous with ACCA in Sri Lanka. Being Sri Lanka’s only ACCA Platinum Status Tuition Provider, Mercury has earned a reputation in the market as the  accounting, finance and management specialists in Sri Lanka due to their high level of quality standards and a lecture panel with the finest credentials, backed by decades of corporate experience. State-of-the-art lecture rooms, all air-conditioned and equipped with multimedia facilities and a modern computer lab which is a licensed centre for ACCA computer-based exams are just some of the factors that add value to the students who study at Mercury. Mercury is also accredited as an institute that ensures their students get individual attention, even to the extent of additional tutor support when necessary, which not only achieves passing on the very first attempt, but has also resulted in producing the highest number of Sri Lankan and World Prize Winners. As a special incentive for students joining the ACCA program, Mercury is now offering substantial discounts on the enrolment fee. Several parents who have already enrolled their children with Mercury for the July 2014 intake have stated that higher education is quite a costly affair nowadays, and that it is a great relief to them as parents that Mercury is offering to waive off such a substantial amount. In addition to waiving off Rs. 50,000, Mercury also provides free text material, which is by ACCA-endorsed publishers. Furthermore, students registering with Mercury walk out with the ACCA qualification and the BSc. (Hons) in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brookes University in just 2 ½ years, and also have the option of pursuing, thereafter, other relevant qualifications such as the Diploma in IFRS or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst, USA) at Mercury itself. Mercury Managing Director Jeevith Shakespeare said, “Today, there are so many academic and professional qualifications available, but it is crucial that students make that informed, correct choice at the correct time. When they do make that informed choice, they must choose a professional qualification that will enable them, in 10 years down the line, to fit into any sector. The mobility and completeness of the ACCA qualification is such that students can keep their horizons broad and fit into any sector. We simply support their decision to do ACCA by incentivising part of the enrolment fee.” While the ACCA qualification moulds students into well-rounded and work-ready professionals, Mercury’s job bank adds more value to it by assuring students of guaranteed placements at one of the many reputed corporates that Mercury has on board. Classes at Mercury for the Knowledge level will commence on 21 June 2014, with Skills and Professional levels commencing on 5 July. For further details, parents and students can visit the Mercury ACCA Campus in Colpetty at No. 376, Galle Road, Colombo 3.
