Hawaii Pacific University has expressed keenness to increase the intake of students from Sri Lanka via its partnership with Scholarships for USA.
“We have formed a great partnership with Scholarships for USA and are very interested in increasing our number of Sri Lankan students. Having worked with Scholarships for USA for the past three years, I am confident they will help us to achieve this goal,” Hawaii Pacific University Associate Director Lindsey Garbenis said.
Scholarship for USA is a venture by Dissa and Priyanthi Dissanayake.
“The last few years that I have known and worked with Dissa and Priyanthi, they have exceeded my expectations. They helped to bring in record numbers of very qualified Sri Lankan students over the span of a few years. Their knowledge and professionalism in the education field is not only impressive but fruitful,” Garbenis added.
“I have had the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka twice and both times they went above and beyond to make my time valuable by coordinating high school visits with top schools in Sri Lanka. They fully understand the US education system and the application process to US universities. This is one great reason why students come to them for assistance in applying to the US. They have the ability to form lasting and trusting relationships with high school counsellors as well as the students. This gives them the lead in student recruitment to the US,” she added.
Garbenis also said that she has been able to spend some time with them while they were traveling in the US visiting their partner schools. “It is very important to them to visit these schools so they have that in person experience they can share with their students. They are able to share their knowledge experience about our campus with students because of the time they have spent in the US.
This also allows us to put our trust in Scholarships for USA. We know that with their dedication, knowledge and trust in our partnership they will be successful in placing many students at Hawaii Pacific University. HPU is looking forward to a long successful relationship with Scholarships for USA and is honored to be working with them in our mutual goal and having more Sri Lankans study in the US,” Hawaii Pacific University Associate Director Lindsey Garbenis added.
