ESOFT Computer Studies has been operating in the Jaffna region for the past three years, and just a few days ago they launched their brand new 5,500 square foot facility in the heart of the Jaffna Town, under the name ESOFT Metro Campus.

The modern 5,500 square foot facility contains spacious air conditioned classrooms, with a computing lab for practical work and assignments, an interactive training unit for hands-on training, separate study areas, and a library.  It is located on KKS road, on the top floor of the HSBC bank building, and is easily accessible.

As a special promotion to celebrate the opening of the facility, free laptop computers are on offer to students that register and pay in full for their Edexcel HND at the Jaffna Centre. Students can also opt to receive a Rs. 50,000 discount instead of the laptop.

Although ESOFT began as a training organisation for IT related products and higher education programs, throughout the years it has added new education and training programs to its portfolio in a range of disciplines including business and management, English and engineering.

As such, ESOFT Computer Studies has now strategically been renamed and rebranded as the ESOFT Metro Campus, which consists of several schools including School of ICT, School of Business, School of Languages, School of Engineering, and the Corporate Training and Special Projects Division.

ESOFT Metro Campus – Jaffna offers a range of education and training programs for a diverse crowd.  Young children can enrol in kids’ programs to uplift their ICT knowledge and those in O/L and A/L classes can supplement their ICT knowledge as well. School leavers have a range of courses including certificate level and diploma level programs including the very popular and internationally recognised DITEC – diploma in IT.

Higher learning programs such as Edexcel UK’s Higher National Diploma in Computing and Systems Development, the British Computer Society (BCS) higher education qualifications, the University of Colombo School of Computing BIT external degree, as well as the University of Moratuwa BIT external degree are also available. Government and school training programs are also being conducted, including the EKSP project by the Ministry of Education, where Government school teachers are being trained according to the ICDL qualification, the ASAP project, and a few others as well.  With the massive development that is now taking place in the northern region, ESOFT expects to invest more in uplifting the educational standards and qualifications of the people in the north.

ESOFT also conducts free seminars on the behalf of school children who would be sitting for their ICT exams. Teachers-in-charge and principals are invited to contact the Regional Coordinator Gajanan at the Jaffna Centre in order to organise these special events.

Other ESOFT centres in the northern and eastern regions include Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Nelliady, Batticaloa, Kalmunai and Trincomalee. More details can be obtained via www.esoft.lk or by calling the island-wide hotline on 117555545.
