CMI Sri Lanka presents evening seminar on HR topic ‘Challenges in Managing Tomorrow’s Workforce’

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Sri Lanka branch will be organising an evening seminar on ‘Challenges in Managing Tomorrow’s Workforce’ on Wednesday, 7 December at Bouganvillea Ballroom, Galadari Hotel, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

HR managers have always tried to find solutions on how to manage their most important intangible asset – the workforce – of their companies. The challenge of meeting the demands of a changing work force, accelerated by a generation gap, has been a much-discussed subject among HR professionals. 

Various innovations in ICT has made today’s workplace entirely different. Widening the generation gap, Millennials have become a dominant group in the global workforce and have a different set of priorities than the previous generations. 

Tomorrow’s workforce, more than any other generation is looking for a sense of purpose and fulfillment from their work. To manage such a diverse 21st century workforce, that craves for innovation and prosperity, HR managers to be good leaders through communication and inspiration.

The seminar will address the important issues of the above topic and the Key Presenter is Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Professor in Management and Director/Chairman of the Board of Management, PIM. A panel discussion will be followed with eminent resource persons including Dinesh Weerakkody – Chairman of the National Human Resource Development Council of Sri Lanka; Suren Pinto – Founder and CEO of Global Wavenet; Rohan Jayaweera – COO of Antyra Solutions Ltd.; and Pradeepa Kekulawela – Head of HR, SriLankan Airlines. The Panel discussion will be moderated by Sunil Dissanayake – Director/CEO of BMICH and Chairman, Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.
