CIMA awards turn 10; applications now open

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) is now inviting entries for the tenth CIMA annual awards.

The awards recognise excellence in management accountancy and honour those involved in promoting the profession from around the world, with categories open to individuals, teams and organisations who have achieved outstanding success throughout 2011.

CIMA has announced the 17 award categories for 2011, including the addition of two new categories:  

•Businesswoman of the Year: an exceptional businesswoman, who has made a fundamental contribution to the success of her company or who has developed and run her own business.

•Inspirational CIMA Story of the Year: a CIMA member whose career story will inspire others to realise their ambition.

The other award categories are: Distance Learning Student of the Year, Part Qualified Student of the Year, Tutor of the Year, Consultant of the Year, Innovation in Business, Business Partner of the Year, Finance Team of the Tear – less than 5,000 employees, Finance Team of the Year – more than 5,000 employees, Responsible Business, Unlocking Business Intelligence, Large Employer of the Year – over 5,000 employees, sponsored by Hays Senior Finance, Medium Sized Employer of the Year – under 5,000 employees, Recruitment Consultancy of the Year, Case Study Success Award and Outstanding Contribution to Business Performance by a CIMA Member.

The deadline for entries is 15 July 2011 and all entries will be reviewed and selected by a panel of expert judges. The shortlist will be available to view online in September 2011 and the winners will be announced at a prestigious awards dinner in central London, on the evening of 22 November 2011.
