CEWET calls for scholarship applications

The Ceylon Estate Workers Education Trust (CEWET) has requested children of estate workers, who are residents of estates, to forward applications for scholarships. 

These scholarships are available for G.C.E. Advanced Level and undergraduate course students as well as those receiving vocational/technical education at any State technical college. 

Students who have passed the G.C.E Ordinary or Advanced Level examination with either Mathematics or Arithmetic as subjects at the G.C.E. ‘O’ Level examination and are below 25 years of age are eligible to apply. The completed application forms must be accompanied by photocopies of birth certificate, the GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ level result sheet, the latest salary slip of parents and an Estate Superintendent’s Certificate detailing the parent’s occupation.

Application forms are available at the High Commission of India, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 and at the Assistant High Commission of India, No. 31, Rajaphilla Mawatha, Kandy.

Duly completed forms should reach the Honorary Secretary, CEWET c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882 Colombo 3, on or before 30 September.
