British Council recently held the 23rd Annual Education UK Exhibition at the Hilton Colombo Residences.
The Education UK Exhibition organised by the British Council, is the largest British Education exhibition of this kind in Sri Lanka. This year, approximately 15 UK institutions and TNE’s participated in this exhibition, attracting over a large number of students and parents in Sri Lanka to select the best study option from a wide range of courses and qualifications.
Besides the UK exhibitors, students were able to meet representatives from the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), IELTS, awarding bodies of UK qualification providers in Sri Lanka, and some of the successful UK-Sri Lanka educational partner institutions.
In addition to these services, students also had the opportunity to attend a variety of seminars delivered at the exhibition to obtain comprehensive details about the subject areas they were interested in. Seminars conducted this year included those by IELTS, UKVI (United Kingdom Visa and Immigration) and a Law Programs seminar by the University of Southampton.
The Chief Guest for the event was the British High Commissioner James Dauris.
UK has been one of the most popular study destinations for Sri Lankan students for the last couple of years. Students can choose from a three year degree program to a vocational or a professional qualification from the vast array of courses that are on offer.
The British Council is committed to developing mutually beneficial cultural relations between the UK and Sri Lanka and the Education UK Exhibition demonstrated this by directly connecting Sri Lankan students aspiring to study in the UK with UK institutes and providing them with the opportunity to consider a wide range of options from both the UK and Sri Lanka.
