Admission now on for CA Sri Lanka BSc in Applied Accounting August intake

Admission is now on for the third intake of the BSc. in Applied Accounting offered by the country’s foremost professional organisation, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
The degree program which comes with a host of exemptions for the chartered qualification is designed to impart quality professional education specific to the existing and emerging requirement of the financial sector.
CA Sri Lanka is the only professional organisation in the country which currently offers a degree in accounting as well as a professional qualification in accounting. The BSc. in applied accounting has also been approved by the University Grants Commission.
The main objective of the BSc. (Applied Accounting) Degree program is to create employable graduates with the required skills, competencies and industry knowledge to fulfil a successful accounting career.
Accounting and finance graduates play a vital role in today’s economy, and are highly sought after by blue-chip companies, leading banks and large public sector organisations. Accounting and Finance professionals acquire an in-depth knowledge of the sectors they work in and a wide range of different skills such as planning, management and strategy in addition to their accounting abilities; it is this combination that allows them to offer specialised, business specific guidance to corporations on how to plan for and adapt to a changing environment.
The BSc.in Applied Accounting offered by CA Sri Lanka has been designed for aspiring financial managers, investment analysts, bank traders, project managers and accountants who wish to embark on a successful career in the field of accounting and finance.
The degree program conducted in English is offered under two stages where students can either complete the program as a General Degree over a period of three years or as a Special Degree within four years. Professionals who are keen to enhance their professional prospects with a recognised degree program have the option of following the degree program on weekends.
The multi-disciplinary degree program consist modules in Business communication, Economics, Project Management, Corporate law, Human Resource Management, Information & Communication technology and is conducted by a fully-fledged faculty comprising of qualified professors, senior university lecturers and industry professionals who are experts in the area.
The entry requirements for the program includes three subject passes (in any subject stream) at the GCE Advanced Level (Sri Lanka) examination with a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper in one attempt, or four subject passes (in any subject stream) at the GCE Advanced Level (Sri Lanka) examination (under old syllabus) in one attempt or any foreign qualification equivalent to GCE Advanced Level Examination in Sri Lanka as approved by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.
