The National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) opened its new branch located in a scenic site in Kandy. The grandeur opening ceremony was held on 19 January 2013 as President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared open the Kandy branch of the NIBM, at No 2, Asgiriya Road Kandy, on the invitation of Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas Alahapperuma.
The new NIBM branch offers the opportunity of quality education programs in management, computer science and English language for school leavers and working professionals, served by a most dedicated and qualified panel of lecturers within a Government institution.
Fully air conditioned, newly constructed Kandy centre is equipped with modern computer labs, libraries, study rooms, lobby areas and comfortable class room facilities with the capacity to cater to more than 300 students at a time.
Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Deputy Minister Youth Affairs and Skills Development Duminda Dissanayake, ministers, parliamentarians and dignitaries, were amongst those who participated at the inauguration of the Kandy branch.
NIBM is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development and is currently steered by NIBM Director General Dr. E.A. Weerasinghe.
