The Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) has introduced a merit-based scholarship program for engineering and technology degrees to students who have excelled at their Advanced Level examinations.

The ENTECH Youth Excellence Scholarships will reward excellence and offer students an opportunity of getting a world-class education at Sri Lanka’s only research-based residential engineering university campus.

Focused on being Sri Lanka’s best research-based engineering university, the SLTC offers BSc. (Hons) engineering degree programs in Electronics, Telecommunication, Power Systems and Information and Communication. The Bachelor in Technology includes programs in Electronics, Process Automation, Environmental Technology and Agri Technology. Students who have secured a minimum of 3Ss at the Advanced Level examination in the Physical Science, Bioscience and Technology streams are eligible to apply for the degree programs. The ENTECH Youth Excellence Scholarship offers a 100% fee waiver for students with 3As. Such students will have the opportunity of getting a degree in Engineering and Technology from highly-recognised universities around the world, opening up a future of great possibilities. The scholarship program is also extended to other students with a 30% fee waiver for each A, 20% off for each B and 10% off for each C.   “This is the first time in Sri Lanka that students have been offered this kind of scholarship,” stated Eng. Ranjith Rubasinghe, President of SLTC.  “As a responsible corporate citizen, we have taken this initiative to encourage aspiring and talented students to achieve their dreams and goals as well as to ensure a future generation of qualified innovators to lead this nation towards excellence.”

The new semester for 2018 begins mid-March with registrations closing by 2 March. Students are invited to an Open Day at the SLTC city campus on 13 January where they will have the opportunity to discuss their degree programs with SLTC academia and staff. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure, the SLTC was launched with the motive of realising Sri Lanka’s vision of becoming the knowledge hub of Asia. Fully-owned by Sri Lanka Telecom, the campus offers a full four-year degree program for students, designed to provide sound theoretical, practical and analytical knowledge with the fundamentals of engineering and technology.

SLTC’s engineering degree programs are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka.

As Sri Lanka’s only corporate powered, fully-residential and research-based engineering university campus, students at SLTC learn to integrate, study, learn and live together in cohesiveness and camaraderie. Apart from classroom study, students are also groomed to become productive citizens with personal and professional integrity by demonstrating leadership, effective decision-making and the highest ethical standards.

The campus has expanded its infrastructure by adding new classrooms, women’s hostel facilities, a supersized auditorium and library and laboratory services. SLTC provides onsite accommodation facilities with meals, study and living areas, laundry services, recreational facilities and 24/7 security services.  The SLTC is located at the sprawling 35-acre Satellite Station in Padukka, which is easily accessible from Colombo via common transport modes. Students who want to travel from Colombo can use the special air-conditioned bus that operates daily. The administrative office and the city campus are based at TRACE Expert City in Maradana.
