Sri Lanka, China conclude fifth joint talks on trade, economic cooperation

The fifth joint committee meeting on trade and economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and China was held in Colombo yesterday.

The two parties conducted fruitful discussions on the promotion of trade, tourism and investment between the two counties.

An agreement on economic and technical cooperation for $ 16 million and a loan agreement on provision of a concessional loan of $ 147 million by China to Sri Lanka for Hambantota Port Development Phase I project for ancillary works and supply of equipment were signed between the two countries.
