SL Navy lights up Lighthouse with Galley flavour

Adding a fresh breath of air in the city in peaceful times the Sri Lanka Navy on Friday unveiled its newest ground breaking initiative The Lighthouse Galley a boutique restaurant opposite the iconic landmark the Lighthouse in Colombo Galle Face area.

Established with the blessings of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa under an initiative of Navy Commander Vice Admiral D.W.A.S. Dissanayake the facility is likely to be the most sought after restaurant and events venue.

The launch was via another iconic Lankan ad agency Triad which hosted its clients, business leaders and ad industry representatives to a “Sri Lanka Can!” theme event. Apart from unveiling “Can” magazine the first of its kind industry-related publication. Proving that 'Sri Lanka Can!' and believing that 'Sri Lanka will!' Triad chose the venue as it expresses the beauty, freedom and opportunity that prevails in the country and showcase the true potential in post-war Sri Lanka.

The launch included a special performance by Sri Lanka Navy troupe captivating the guests and good cuisine.

The restaurant “Lighthouse Galley” is open for guests from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. whilst on request the Navy will also make a performance. All income earned from the restaurant and performance will go for the welfare of Navy personnel injured or families of Navy heroes who sacrificed their lives to usher peace in Sri Lanka.
