Saluting for a better society

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday kicked off the 8th National Jamboree 2010 at Hambantota under the auspicious of Sri Lanka Scout Association. As the Chief Guest President Rajapaksa declared open the Jamboree attended by over 8000 male and female scouts.

The event runs till 31 December. The Mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise & Law, to help build a better world where people are self fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in Society.
