Royal Ceramics Lanka (RCL) last week figured among the prestigious Forbes Asia’s ‘Best under a Billion’ awards and topped up the achievement by securing a special award for Best Comeback Performance by a company as well.
RCL Managing Director Nimal Perera accepted the two awards at a ceremony held at Shangri-la Hotel in Singapore. Last year too RCL won two awards.
Forbes Asia’s ‘Best Under A Billion’ list honours public companies in the Asia Pacific region with annual revenue between US$ five million and US$ one billion, have positive net income and have been publicly traded for at least a year. From a universe of 15,000 companies, the candidates are screened on sales growth, earnings growth and return on equity in the past 12 months and over three years. The result is a final list featuring 200 exceptional small and midsized companies, from 15 countries in Asia Pacific.
RCL had sales US$ 54 million, net income US$ 15 million and market values US$ 74 million as of July 2012
Founded in 1990 Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC is engaged in the manufacture and sale of porcelain and ceramic floor and wall tiles. It is also active in the designing and laying of tiles. The company operates through two segments: Tiles and Sanitary ware. Glazed ceramic tiles and ceramic porcelain tiles are manufactured at its two production facilities in Sri Lanka. Its products include polished tiles, non-slip rock and studded tiles.
