President opens S.P. Tao-funded Sama Vihara in Havelock Town

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday declared open the Samadhi Buddha statue erected at the premises of Havelock City in Colombo. Chairman of Mireka Capital Land Ltd. of Singapore-fame S.P. Tao (right) has donated Rs. 80 million from his personal funds for the construction of the temple monastery. Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, former Foreign Affairs Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and UNPer Daya Gamage also participated at the ceremony –
