President consults entrepreneurs on Budget 2013

A meeting to take into consideration expectations of the local private sector entrepreneurs in preparation of Budget 2012 was held yesterday by President and Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Entrepreneurs representing plantation, agriculture, apparel, rubber products, gems and jewellery, spices, ayurvedic products, animal husbandry, cosmetics, handloom and leather products participated in the discussion which also included Minister Wimal Weerawansa and Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera among other officials. The main aim of the meeting was to assess steps that could be taken to increase productivity, improve their products and boost exports.
