IMF’s turn to listen?

The Government positioning Sri Lanka as the emerging wonder of Asia with 8% growth despite global and regional crises, as well as the programme with the IMF coming to a successful end, it appears that it is the multilateral agency’s time to listen.

Here IMF Mission team leader Brian Aitken seemingly gives a patient hearing to Senior Minister for International Monetary Cooperation Dr. Sarath Amunugama during a meeting between the two yesterday. They discussed the recent macro economic developments of the country and the outlook, and the Minister’s visit to Washington for the IMF/World Bank meetings
