Hirunika triumphs for UPFA, Marrikar shines for UNP

Western Provincial Council candidate Hirunika Premachandra has obtained the highest preferential votes for the UPFA in the Colombo District with 139,034 votes, while Udaya Gammanpilla has received 115,637 votes. From the UNP, new comer and media personality S.M. Marikkar received the highest preference votes with 67,243 votes while former WPC Opposition Leader Manju Sri Arangala has received 45,654 votes. JVP firebrand K.D. Lal Kantha has obtained 45,460 votes from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna while Susil Kidelpitiya has obtained 32,918 votes from the Democratic Party.
