Expolanka signs BOI deal to build Rs. 600 m hi-tech warehouse

The Expolanka Group announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art, iconic, green, warehouse to provide value added logistics services to the group’s rapidly expanding client base.



A BOI project, this warehouse facility will be called Logistics Parks Pvt. Ltd. is scheduled to be operational by March 2013.

Strategically located at Avissawella Road, Orugodawatte, the Rs. 600 m warehouse will consist of an area of approximately 100,000 square feet.

Parallel to this, Expolanka will also construct a 20,000 sq ft state-of-the-art office complex adjacent to the warehouse in order to provide administrative and management services to the operation of the warehouse.

Expolanka Freight CEO Jagath Pathirane said that the primary objective of this project was to construct and operate a Warehouse Facility which is able to provide end-to-end logistics solutions to the company’s valuable customers and to maintain its profile as a market leader and innovator in the logistics industry.

“The proposed warehouse facility will complement our existing business and enable us to market our services better to our customers. In addition, the warehouse will drive forward our corporate objective of positioning Expolanka as providing end-to-end logistics services,” he added.
