One of the oldest cities in the USA, Boston has many nicknames, and Emirates challenged readers of the Daily FT and Weekend FT to guess these nicknames by offering a clue a day, each for a different name or description by which Boston is known.
We published one clue a day for 10 days, offering Daily FT and Weekend FT readers a chance to win a bag of exciting Emirates merchandise, including an Emirates classic bag, travel wallet, travel clock, solar-powered charger, an Emirates aircraft model and other branded items.
The 10 lucky readers were Dr. Nirukshi Fernando, Moratuwa, Shiara Madawala, Colombo 5, K. Wickramaratne, Colombo 5, Zamani Zainudeen, Dehiwala, N. Gunewardene, Colombo 5, Tharaka Jayawardena, Galle, M. Azfar Nomani, Colombo 10, Karen Coilpillai, Nugegoda, Nimal Victoria, Colombo 6 and C. Amaratunga, Mt. Lavinia.
The prizes to winners were presented by Devika Ellepola, Emirates Sales Manager in Sri Lanka.
Emirates offers convenient daily connecting flights from Colombo to its flight EK237 that departs Dubai at 09:45hrs daily and arrives in Boston at 15:15hrs. The return flight, EK 238, takes off from Boston at 23:15hrs and lands in Dubai at 19:30hrs the next day.
